One gorgeous home left at Maison Vernon

Maison Vernon stands at the top level of luxury offerings in Boston – in more ways than one. Located at 41 Mt Vernon St., this iconic building literally sits on top of Beacon Hill with the Massachusetts State House right across the street. The famed golden dome sits picture-perfect from the front windows of this building.

 

Originally built in 1917, 41 Mt. Vernon St. used to be home to the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Beacon Press. It is this press that first published Sen. Michael Gravel’s edition of the legendary Pentagon Papers in 1971. Before then, it was headquarters of the New England Watch and Ward Society, which began as the New England Society for the Suppression of Vice. An extensive and meticulous.
