Easter egg hunt

The First Church in Charlestown will host an Easter Egg Hunt from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the Charlestown Training Field. Children are invited to bring their baskets for a fun hunt and refreshments. Call 617-242-3693 or visit www.fccharlestown.com.

Sunrise service

The crew of USS Constitution will host the annual Easter sunrise service aboard the USS Constitution in Dry Dock 1 at the Charlestown Navy Yard from 6:45 to 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 21. This non-denominational service will be open to the general public, free of charge. Guests will be allowed to board Constitution at 6:45 a.m. with seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All guests, ages 18 and older, are required to show a valid state or federal- issued photo I.D. or passport to board the ship. The service will conclude with the Constitution crew’s observance of morning colors at 8 a.m. aboard “Old Ironsides.” Following the service, the Constitution will reopen for the general public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For further information, visit www.ussconstitutionmuseum.org or call 617-426-1812.

Violin concert

Violin virtuoso Dorisiya Yosifova will present a recital of solo works for violin from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 22 at the Charlestown Branch Library, 179 Main St. Born in Bulgaria, Yosifova began her musical training early on, and her first solo debut came at the age of seven with the Gabrovian Chamber Orchestra. She has completed a bachelor of music degree in violin performance from Oberlin Conservatory and recently earned a master of music degree at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Watercolor workshops

The Charlestown Branch Library, 179 Main St., will offer free watercolor workshops from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, from April 23 to May 21. Attendees will learn the basics of watercolor painting in this weekly series of workshops for adults with artist Juleen Jones. The classes will cover an introduction to watercolors; flowers, leaves and trees; skies and clouds; introduction to landscapes; and seascapes, beaches and boats. Solo art exhibit

The StoveFactory Gallery, 523 Medford St., will host a new exhibit “The Shape of Things” from April 26 through 28. The community is invited to an opening reception to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 26. The exhibit will feature new landscapes and other artworks by Barbara J. Torrey. Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Healthy Kids Day

The Charlestown YMCA at 150 Second Ave. will host a Healthy Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. Festivities will include dancing to music spun by a DJ, games, healthy eating information with Whole Foods, face painting and chats with representatives from the U.S. Navy. Admission is free.
