Spring benefit

The Labouré Center’s 37th annual spring reception will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 at The Exchange, 212 Northern Ave. The Kerr Family will be presented with the 2019 Jack Shaughnessy Service Award. Hors d’oeuvres and a live and a silent auction will be featured. Among the auction items is a getaway for two to Nantucket and tickets to a New England Patriots game. Other items will be added on Facebook and other social media. Free parking will be available at the corner of Northern Avenue and Haul Road, courtesy of MassPort. Citizenship class

The South Boston Branch Library, 646 East Broadway, will offer a free citizenship class from 5 to 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Project Citizenship will provide applicants free technical and legal help in completing their applications for citizenship. The class prepares students for all parts of their citizenship test and will cover the literacy test, 100 questions about U.S. history and government and help students improve their speaking and listening abilities in English. Requirements are basic level English and legal permanent resident card for five years or three years if married to an American citizen. Family dance day

The Institute of Contemporary Art, 100 Northern Ave., will host a free family day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. This month will feature the Boston Youth Dance Showcase. Families can see the new art exhibits, try gallery games and family pop-up talks, make and frame a sketch of Boston Harbor and be dazzled by performances by Boston-area kids.
