10K Race

The Boston Athletic Association’s next 10- kilometer race will be at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 23. Limited to 10,000 runners, the race will follow a course that begins and ends from Boston Common at Charles Street, and winds through the Beacon Hill, Back Bay and Fenway neighborhoods. No qualifying standard is required for this race. Go to, for more information and to register. The registration fee is $65.

Two Presidents and a Ghost

Boston Athenæum Docent Maureen Marcucci will lead a discussion around portraits and lives of Samuel Eliot, Thomas Handasyd Perkins and Rev. Thaddeus Mason Harris, and their roles as leaders who have impacted the history of the Boston Athenaeum from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26. These “Up Close Tours” encourage visitors to look closely at materials from the Athenæum’s rich collections and consider them within a particular context. Boston Athenaeum, founded in 1807, is located at 10½ Beacon St. Most programs are held in the Bayard Henry Long Room on the first floor. Amplified and assistive listening devices are available for patron use.
