Coastal bird walk

Mass Audubon and the Department of Conservation and Recreation will offer a guided coastal walking tour at Belle Isle Marsh from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21. Walkers should meet at the parking lot of the Belle Isle Marsh Reservation, 1399 Bennington St.

Mass Audubon’s coastal waterbird education specialist and the Belle Isle Marsh supervisor will look at Boston’s coastal birds. Belle Isle Marsh offers a unique birding experience as it is close to urban life, but also has a highly productive coastal ecosystem.

Salsa in the park

Piers Park on Marginal Street will host a free musical concert at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 22.

Salsa y Control Vinyl Jam will provide the entertainment.

Blankets, low beach chairs and picnics are welcome.

Shorebird surprises

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation will host “Shorebird Surprises” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24 meeting at the DCR building, 1 Eliot Circle.

Participants will explore beautiful Revere Beach for shorebirds and other local specialties, walking up to three miles on the beach, on mud flats and paths. Some binoculars and a spotting scope will be provided but attendees should bring them if possible. This free program is recommended for adults and children ages 10 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Fun at the library

The East Boston Branch Library, 365 Bremen St., will offer free, fun programming for children during July.

The programs will include Story Time for children, ages 1-5, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays; tinkering and inventions for youth at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays; baby lap-sit for children, younger than 2, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays; and Yu- Gi-Oh Club at 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

Caregivers must accompany children to these programs.
