Children’s musical

 

The Fourth Presbyterian Church’s Children’s Theater will present “Seussical, the Musical” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the church, 340 Dorchester St.

 

Children, ages 5 to 12, will perform all the favorites from this musical based on the children’s stories by Dr. Seuss.

 

This event is free but donations will be collected to help fund scholarships to the program.

Christmas house tour

 

This year marks the 27th annual Labouré Center South Boston Christmas house tour when friends and family can start the holiday season celebrations.

 

A twilight tour will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, followed by a wine reception at the center, 275 West Broadway, immediately afterward. Parking and transportation will be available from the center.

 

The Sunday, Dec. 2 tour will be held from noon to 4 p.m.

 

Five homes will be decorated for the holidays, highlighting the creative visions of local designers and providing ideas for making your own home more festive. In addition, the house tour Christmas sample sale shop will be open.

 

Transportation provided by Old Town Trolley and Yankee Line departs from Labouré Center at 275 West Broadway, where parking is limited, and from Castle Island where there is ample parking.

 

Tickets for the twilight tour are $50 and participation is limited. The Sunday tour costs $25 in advance or $30 on the day.

Holiday trolley

 

The Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley will tour the neighborhood at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 at M Street.

 

Santa Claus and friends from the North Pole will bring holiday cheer and refreshments, and Mayor Walsh will help light the Christmas tree. There will be pony rides and baby goats to pet. Balloon artist Lou Johnson will return this year to create amazing balloon animals for the kids and juggler Tim Ellis will also be back again to entertain everyone. The New England Revolution mascot, Slyde the Fox and the Revolution Street Team will be there with giveaways.
