Christmas Peace Breakfast

A Christmas Peace Breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 in the Lower Hall of St. Monica-St. Augustine Church, 331 Old Colony Ave. in South Boston.

The Good Samaritan Ministry at this church supports individuals and families who are often overlooked by others. Violence, addiction, poverty, oppression, chronic mental illness, and other injustices often isolate victims and survivors from the blessings of a safe and welcoming community.

Their Peace Ministry offers monthly Peace Breakfasts, winter Pasta and Peace dinners, summer Peace Picnics and other gatherings where compassion and kindness heal hearts and spirits wounded by violence and healthy food nourishes the body.

Their Recovery Ministry offers a sanctuary of support and spiritual nourishment for those seeking recovery from addiction and for their families and friends.

Their Food Security Ministry provides monthly groceries and emergency food for nearly 300 individuals and families living with hunger a month.

For more information, to volunteer and/or to make a financial donation to support this ministry, contact Deacon Paul at 617-268-8100 or visit “St. Monica’s Kitchen” at sbscatholic.org.
